13 Places to Swim, Splash and Cool Off in the Seacoast

Need to cool off on a hot day in the Seacoast? Here's where to go!

Kids want to cool off, but not sure where to go in the Seacoast? Here is a list of splash pads and pools in the Seacoast area to take kids on these hot summer days.

We advise always checking with the venue when possible before heading out as hours and availability can change due to any number of factors, ranging from weather to staffing issues.

Aqua Land Splash Pad

1 Terrace Drive, Newmarket

What to expect: This splash pad is part of Newmarket Rec and is enclosed, making it easy to keep an eye on the kiddos while they splash away. There is also a gazebo available to rent, making this a perfect spot for a summer birthday party.

Dates and hours: July 3rd - August 18th: Mon - Fri 4:30 pm - 8 pm; Sat & Sun 10 am - 8 pm

July 4th: 10 am - 8 pm

August 4th: Backyard Bash - 5 pm - 8 pm for attendees only

August 19th - Sept 4th: Mon - Fri 10 am - 7 pm; sat & Sun 10 am - 7 pm

Dover Adventure Playground

50 Henry Law Ave, Dover

What to expect: This fun playground has a splash pad located in Henry Law Park. 

Dates and hours: Splash pad 9 am - 8 pm, Playground 7 am - 9:30 pm

Noble Pines Park

1 Government Way, Somersworth

What to expect: park with playground areas, splash pad and covered pavilion

Dates and hours: Mid-June through Labor Day, 10 am - 7 pm weather permitting

Pools in the Seacoast

Peirce Island Outdoor Pool

99 Peirce island Rd, Portsmouth

What to expect: public pool for residents and non-residents offering swim lessons, adult lap pool and open swim times. 

Dates and hours: June 24th - August 23rd open daily for open swim from 1 pm - 5:15 pm Mon/Wed/Fri, 1 pm - 6:15 pm on Tues/Thurs and Sat/Sun 11 am - 5:15 pm

Admission price: Residents: children under 18 free, adults $3, Non-residents: children under 18 $3, adults $5. Season passes also available. 


Dan Healy Outdoor Pool

4 Hampton Rd, Exeter

What to expect: The pool is open for lap swimming during the early morning hours of the week, as well as open swim during the day in sessions. The pool can also be booked for birthday parties. 

Dates and hours: Open swim from June 8th - 16th weekends only, 9:30 am - 5 pm; open full time starting June 17th, Mon - Fri 1 pm - 7:30 pm, Tues & Thurs 9 am - 12 pm, Sat & Sun 9 am - 5 pm

Lap swim Mon - Fri 7:30 am - 8:30 am

Admission price: Day Sessions: Youth(17 & under) $4.00 Residents/$6.00 Non-Residents, Adult(18+) $5.00 Residents/$8.00 Non-Residents, Senior(62+) $3.00 Residents/$6.00 Non-Residents

The Works Family Health & Fitness Center

23 Works Way, Somersworth

What to expect: With a membership or day pass, you can have unlimited access to both the indoor and outdoor family aquatic centers and indoor lap pool. A summer only membership option is also available. 

Dates and hours: Mon - Fri 7 am - 7 pm, Sat & Sun 7 am - 6 pm
