Five Things to Do in the Seacoast This Weekend

Although the weather won’t quite feel like it should in June, the Seacoast still has several fantastic events happening that feel like summer. Full of family-friendly activities, great food and the opportunity to support local businesses in the Seacoast, there is sure to be a gathering or two you don't want to miss. Check out Macaroni KID's five picks for things to do this weekend with your family in the Seacoast. 

1. Piscataqua Riverfest



This is the third year for the Piscataqua Riverfest, which is a celebration of the rivers and bays in the Seacoast. The festival will include a boat show at Strawbery Banke, maritime demonstrations, an arts and crafts show hosted by the Great New England Craft & Artisan Shows, food trucks, live music and children's activities! Sat June 3rd 10 am - 5 pm 


2. Portsmouth NH 400 Grand Parade97.5 WOKQ Chowder Festival Summer Kick-off



While you are in Portsmouth at Riverfest, head over to Prescott Park for some delicious chowder at the WOKQ Chowder Festival! Local restaurants participate in this annual affair which also features live music and activities for the kids. Then, head downtown for the Portsmouth NH 400 Grand Parade! The parade will take place in Market Square. Parade, Sat June 3rd 11 am - 1 pm, Chowderfest, 11:30 am - 2 pm


3. Down Town Durham Day Community Celebration



Durham is hosting a community celebration guaranteed for tons of family fun! Food, music, crafts, games and more are part of the festivities. Sat June 3rd 12:30 pm - 3 pm


4.  NH Maker Fest



For a family-friendly event showcasing "makers" such as chefs, engineers, artists and scientist, visit the Children's Museum of New Hampshire for their 11th annual NH Maker Fest. The festival will include live performances, demonstrations and workshops. Sat June 3rd 10 am - 3 pm


5. Paws Walk



Join the NHSPCA at Stratham Park for a walk known as the Paws Walk to help support the care of animals in need. Sun June 4th 10 am - 2pm
