Is there anything better than treating the kids to an ice cream cone on a hot summer day in the Seacoast? We can't think of one.

Luckily, we have a lot of great locally-owned ice cream shops in the Seacoast where we can indulge in yummy goodness. Here are 5 of our favorite places for ice cream in the Seacoast:

Izzy's Frozen Yogurt & Ice Cream
33 Bow Street, Portsmouth

What we love: Izzy's offers traditional ice cream and frozen yogurt, but their menu also includes coffee, specialty drinks, sundaes and shakes. Open seven days a week during the summer, you can get your ice cream fix anytime! The shop is located near the Piscataqua, so grab a cone and take a walk to check out the tugboats on the river.

Lago's Ice Cream
71 Layfayette Road, Rye

What we love: With a huge menu of flavors to choose from, Lago's Ice Cream is sure to have something you'll love! From frappes to freezes, cones to sundaes, there is a plethora of options. Try their award winning flavors Funky Panda and Kahlua Fudge Brownie.

Lickee's & Chewy's Candies & Creamery
53 Washington St, Suite 100, Dover

What we love: This candy and ice cream shop is a child's dream come true! With a medieval castle theme, Lickee's & Chewies offers sundaes, shakes and an abundance of topping options to choose from. Try a King Shake for a treat fit for...well, a king!

Memories Ice Cream
95 Exeter Road, Kingston

What we love: Memories is a family run business set at a dairy farm where they make their own ice cream in house. They boast an impressive 45 flavors, as well as specialty flavors that change weekly and monthly. Some of their signature flavors include caramel macchiato and Cookie Monster. In addition, they make ice cream cakes and sandwiches.

Stillwell's
190 Water St , Exeter
356 Lafayette Rd, Hampton

What we love: Serving ice cream, frozen yogurt, gelato and Italian ice, Stillwell's is a family run business with multiple locations, two of which are conveniently located in the Seacoast. They offer up the classics such as mint chocolate chip and maple walnut, as well as more adventurous flavors like Coffee Kahlua Brownie and Totally Turtle.
