5 Great Parks and Playgrounds in the Seacoast

Parks and playgrounds we love in Seacoast, NH

We are lucky in the Seacoast to have so many great playgrounds and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, Seacoast parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, are a great place to meet old friends (and make new friends!), and they're FREE!

I thought I'd share with you my family's picks for our top five playgrounds and parks to visit in the Seacoast.

Dover Adventure Playground

Dover 

What we love about Dover Adventure Playground: 

In collaboration with the City of Dover and other supporters, the Children's Museum of NH helped create Dover Adventure Playground. The playground is open from 7 am - 7 pm in the fall/winter season and 7 am - 9:30 pm in the spring/summer.


Amenities at Dover Adventure Playground:

  • Vintage Gundalow Boat
  • Splash Pad
  • Musical Instruments

Odiorne Point State Park

570 Ocean Blvd
Rye 

What we love about Odiorne Point State Park: 

You can make a whole day out of visiting Odiorne Point State Park. Start with a visit to the Seacoast Science Center, then have lunch at one of several picnic tables at the park while enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean. Stroll along the trails in the park, or get some energy out on the playground.

Prescott Park

What we love about Prescott Park: 

Portsmouth's historic Prescott Park is located on the waterfront and is home to numerous varieties of flower gardens. Four Tree Island is part of the park and is accessible via a causeway. The annual Arts Festival takes place on the Wilcox Main Stage and includes a series of concerts, movies and other events during the summer months.

Recreation Park

What we love about Recreation Park: 

Recreation Park has become the area for most of Exeter's recreational activities. With several fields and courts, and the Seacoast's oldest wooden playground, Planet Playground, this park has something for everyone.

Woodridge Park

Fogg Road
Durham

What we love about Woodridge Park: 

Woodridge Park in Durham is open from dawn to dusk. This park is great for picnicking, sports and skateboarding.
