Outdoor Winter Fun Spots in the Seacoast

Looking for winter fun in Seacoast, NH? Here's our list of can't-miss family fun.

We are all  looking for ways to get out of the house in the Seacoast this winter! Fresh air is good for the soul — not to mention it helps to get the wiggles out of the kids. So we put together a list to help you find fun things to do this winter with your family in the Seacoast (or just a short drive away!) during these next few winter months in Seacoast, NH.

1. Labrie Family Skate



Labrie Skate is an outdoor family skating rink on Puddle Dock Pond located at Strawbery Banke Museum. Skating is open daily from 9 am - 5 pm, but check their Facebook page for up to date conditions and times. Admission is $12 for non-members and $6 for members, under age 5 is free. 14 Hancock St, Portsmouth


2. Odiorne Point



Great for snow shoeing, cross-country skiing and hiking, Odiorne Point offers many trails during the winter months in the Seacoast. The park is open year round, unless otherwise posted. During the off-season, hours are from 8 am - 6 pm.  Admission for the park is $4 for adults; $2 for children ages 6-11; children ages 5 and under and NH residents age 65 and over are admitted free. 570 Ocean Blvd, Rye


3. Wagon Hill Farm 



Wagon Hill is a favorite in the Seacoast area for sledding. The park is also great for snow shoeing, cross-country skiing and dog-walking. Use of the park is free. 156 Piscataqua Road, Durham


4. Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve 



The grounds are open every day, year-round from dawn to dusk and offers some beautiful spots for hiking. You may even catch a glimpse of an osprey or two! 89 Depot Rd, Greenland

5. Urban Forestry Center



The Urban Forestry Center offers several trails perfect for hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The trails are open daily from 7 am - 8 pm. 45 Elwyn Rd, Portsmouth


6. Great Bay National Wildlife Refuge 



There are so many possibilities for things to do at Great Bay! From hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, there is something for everyone. The refuge is open from sunrise to sunset daily. 3 Arboretum Dr, Newington


7. Garrison Hill

This park is open from 7 am - 7 pm from October 1st to March 31st and is a spot known for sledding and snowboarding in the winter. Off Central Avenue between Dover downtown and the "miracle mile" mall area. Turn right on Abbey Sawyer Road at sign just before the entrance to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
