Summer Sessions Surf Shop, is located directly across the street from Jenness Beach in Rye, New Hampshire. Our focus is simple: great instruction, positive first experiences in the ocean, and a lifelong love of surfing. Whether you need a new board, a surf lesson or a latte for your beachwalk, we have it all.

At the heart of what we do is our Kids’ Surf Camp program. Designed for ages 6–16, our camps are the perfect entry point for first-time surfers and a proven way for returning kids to progress their skills alongside friends. No prior experience is required, and all equipment is included. Each weeklong camp runs Monday through Friday and is led by a highly experienced coaching staff with 30+ years of coaching experience. With a maximum student-to-instructor ratio of 4:1, every child receives individual attention, clear guidance, and constant encouragement. Our instructors work closely with each camper to help them understand wave timing, ocean conditions, and board control while keeping the experience lighthearted and fun.

Beginners learn the fundamentals—paddling, standing up, balance, and riding waves—while more experienced surfers refine technique and begin developing the foundation for more advanced maneuvers. Throughout the week, we emphasize ocean safety, surf etiquette, respect for the environment, and the confidence that comes from learning something challenging in a supportive setting. All coaches are CPR and first-aid certified, and safety is always our top priority.
In addition to kids camps, Summer Sessions offers surf lessons for individuals and small groups, following the same instruction-first, safety-driven approach that defines our programs. Whether it’s a first lesson or a step toward progression, our goal is to have every student up and riding—and smiling—on their very first day in the water. We also offer surfboard and wetsuit rentals for those looking to get in the water on their own.

Our Rye Beach surf shop is located directly across from Jenness State Beach and includes a full-service café right inside the shop. The surf shop café operates as its own coffee shop and beach café, making it easy to grab breakfast, lunch, snacks, smoothies, lattes, and more—without ever leaving the beach. Everything we do is geared toward making surf as accessible, fun, and safe as possible. If you haven't tried before, this is the year to learn!
